
Alanah has received speech and drama training by Pam Moore "Creative Communications" in New Zealand. She has completed Grade 3 to Grade 8 certificate in NZ Speechboard and Trinity Exams with a majority of 'Honours' results including Grade 8 performance. In Grade 6 she received an award for "Top Speech and Drama Student in New Zealand". She also worked as a student drama teacher for children of all ages.
Her theatrical aspirations continued when she moved to Melbourne and secured a job at "Witches in Britches" Theatre Restaurant. She has tried her hand in all areas including "Witches for Kids" birthday parties, on stage in the "Desperate Housewitches" evening show, as well as being the character waitress Magenta and working during the day as Box Office Manager.
Alanah has been involved with musical theatre from a young age, as Jack's Mum in a musical "Jack and the Beanstalk" in Primary School, right up to Eileen in "Back to the 80's" with Rotorua Operatic Society. Other credits include "Wizard of Oz" with Catchment Players of Darebin, "The Mystery of Edwin Drood", and "The Hunchback of Nostradamus".
She has also dabbled in Shakespearean pieces performing as Hero in "Much Ado About Nothing" by Shakespeare Outside, Lady Capulet in "Romeo and Juliet" and various other roles throughout the years in "A Midsummer Night's Dream", Mistress Ford in "Merry Wives of Windsor" and "Measure for Measure" with the annual "Sheila Winn Shakespeare Festival". At this festival she has also directed a piece from "Merchant of Venice" which received several awards. Alanah received the Shakespeare trophy for "Most Promising Actor" at the annual speech and drama competitions. She has also played lead roles in a number of One Act Plays and student directed pieces throughout the years.
Alanah has been taught a variety of dance styles, including Ballet, Ceroc, Ballroom and Latin American. At high school she also learnt a bit of Jazz, Hip Hop and Contemporary Dance. She has performed as a Public Speaker, most notably as emcee for a Rotorua Film Festival, and has also won awards several speech competitions such as RGHS, Lion Business, Rotary Speechmaker and RSA.
She is very excited to be working with Tony Bones Entertainment as it brings her love of children and theatre together, and she can't wait to party with you! |
