This teacher, singer, musician, songwriter and entertainer continues to have an incredible career in the music and entertainment industry. He started performing in theatre restaurants in the late 70's around the same time he completed his teaching qualifications.
He went on to form the highly original cult band, "Yasmin & The Tea Leaves". During the 80 's and 90's he performed solo in Melbourne and throughout Australia and developed into a very adaptable performer, able to entertain in venues with varying requirements. These ranged from Modern Popular, Swing Jazz, and Country Music, to Cabaret and Kids Music. His speciality became performing as a "Wandering Minstrel".
Over the years he has performed on many forms of media, including television and radio, as well as his thousands of public live audience shows. He sings with a rich baritone voice and has excellent projection.
David is also brilliant at instantly developing a rapport with people when performing. His teaching experience in Kindergartens, Primary Schools, Secondary Schools and the TAFE system in Australia have also been invaluable to his performing for children. He studied at Melbourne Teacher’s College, Melbourne University, and finished his Diploma in 1976. Over the years he performed and worked in Kindergartens, taught in Primary Schools, taught guitar in Secondary Schools, and for over ten years has taught in a music course at TAFE.
