Kent’s constant need for entertainment
while growing up in country S.A. inevitably steered him towards
a career in performing arts. He has appeared on television
in commercials, as a presenter on “Here’s Humphrey”,
in the “English at Work” series for S.B.S., and
worked as a stand-in for Tim Roth in the film “Backsliding”.
He has performed in numerous operas for State Opera of S.A.,
and worked for 10 months in Taiwan as the singin’, dancin’
host of the “Wild West Show” at LeoFoo World Adventure/
Wildlife Park…..Yeeehaaaaw!
Whilst studying for his B.A. in Music Theatre at the Western
Australian Academy of Performing Arts (W.A.A.P.A.), Kent performed
in such productions as “Lysistrata” (Germaine
Greer adaptation), “My Favourite Year”, “Working”,
“The Boys from Syracuse”, “Bye Bye, Birdie”,
and “The World Goes ‘Round” (Director- Nancye
Hayes).
Since graduating in 2001, his professional credits include
Graeme Base’s musical “The Sign of the Seahorse”
(Windmill Theatre, S.A.- Director Tom Healy), Gale Edwards’
acclaimed production of “Sweeney Todd” (State
Opera of S.A.), The Japanese Film Musical “Koi ni Utaeba”
(“When You Sing of Love”- Director Shusuke Kaneko/
Andrew Lancaster), and both “A Different Sort of Real-
The Diary of Charlotte McKenzie” and the popular picture
book "The Singing Hat" for Tony Bones Entertainment.
