
Laura began performing professionally alongside
Chaim Topol as Chava in Fiddler on the Roof at
the Regent Theatre. Eight years later, she was lucky enough to work with Topol again in Fiddler, this time as his middle daughter 'Hodel'. Laura also performed the role
of 'Eliza Doolittle' in My Fair Lady at Melbourne's Comedy Theatre, and before that played Serena Katz in the Australasian tour of Fame
the Musical. She has also travelled to China to
appear as a soloist in The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber concert,
starring Elaine Paige, as well as performing the role of 'Susan Hershey' in The Full Monty at the State Theatre in Melbourne. Most recently, Laura appeared as 'Heidi' in the Melbourne Premiere of I Sing!, and played the role of 'Cathy' in Melbourne Music Theatre's production of The Last Five Years. Other
performances include lead roles in Sunday in the Park with
George, Merrily WE Roll Along, Into the Woods, Les Miserables, Songs for a New World, Cabaret, Once
on this Island, The Hired Man, Tell me on a Sunday and also
The Wiz, for which she received a Victorian Music Theatre
Guild award.
During breaks from musical theatre, Laura has taught singing
and drama at secondary schools and specialist performing schools,
including the Victorian Youth Theatre, and has been working
with Tony Bones Entertainment since 2001, doing cabarets and
childrens shows. She has performed as a soloist in several
other concerts and cabarets, at venues including the Melbourne
Tennis Centre and Government House, and has also appeared several times
in guest roles on Blue Heelers and Seachange. |
