Laura has a strong passion for children's theatre, combining her skills and training in performing, with her experience in caring for and teaching children. Holding a degree in Early Childhood, Laura has over 10 years experience as a Nanny, Child Carer and Kindergarten Teacher, working with children aged 4 weeks to 12 years.
Trained in Classical Voice, Piano and Flute, Laura holds 5th Grade AMEB certificates in both Voice and Music Theory. She has also studied at the National Theatre in St Kilda, in their full time Music Theatre course in 1999.
On stage, Laura's credits include Lizzie in Baby, Yonah in Children of Eden, Sharon in Slice of Saturday Night and Red Riding Hood in Into the Woods. She has performed with many theatre companies in Melbourne such as Whitehorse, CLOC, Altona City Theatre; and with Geelong Lyric and Doorstep in Geelong. Laura was also awarded a Judges Award from the Music Theatre Guild of Victoria for her role in Doorstep's 2003 production of Godspell.Laura has spent the last three years working for the children's entertainment company, Alpha Shows. During this time she has travelled extensively around Victoria, South Australia, ACT and NSW, performing 90 minute children's pantomimes in theatres and schools. Roles include Esmerelda (The Hunchback of Notre Dame), Fairy Godmother & Hormone (Cinderella), Scooter the dog (Beauty & the Beast), and Fairy Floss & Mite (Sleeping Beauty). |
