
Matt is currently completing a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Melbourne, majoring in Theatre Studies. This year, he has taken a year out to focus on more practical acting endeavours and complete the VCA’s year-long Foundation Acting Course.
Other achievement this year include: co-writing and starring in a show for the 2009 Melbourne International Comedy Festival (Accidental Identity by C. C Productions), performing the lead roles in Red Man by Cooked Him Productions, The Fire and Hurricane Survival Guide by Picket Fence Theatre, and Pretty Place for St Martin’s Youth Theatre and performing the role of Madame in Jean Genet’s The Maids. He is also gaining industry experience working as an extra and minor part actor in various commercial advertisements and television shows.
In 2007 Matt was awarded the Malthouse Theatre Award for Outstanding Contribution to Dramatic Art by the Malthouse Theatre, nominated by the Victorian Musical Theatre Guild for Best Junior Male Performer in a Leading Role for his performance in The Mikado, and was invited to partake in Top Acts 2008 for his VCE theatre studies monologue.
A passionate and dedicated actor, Matt is committed to producing original work, and is thoroughly looking forward to touring and performing for Book Week 2009!
